Dr. Glenn Gookin, MD, PhD, FAAFP, is a family physician in Grass Valley. He is a champion of family medicine and a proud fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians whose mission is the advancement of health care to the American people. Dr. Gookin attended the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, Orlando for medical school after completing his doctorate in Environmental Toxicology at the University of California Irvine, highlighting his diverse academic expertise. During his residency, Dr. Gookin trained at the Mercy Methodist Family Medicine Residency in Sacramento, California. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, specializing in full spectrum family medicine. Dr. Gookin's approach to patient care prioritizes patient empowerment and comprehensive understanding of medical diagnoses and histories. He is passionate about fostering communication among healthcare providers, with a focus on both inpatient and outpatient settings to enhance patient outcomes. Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Gookin has a vibrant range of hobbies, including distance running, hiking, climbing, mountaineering, basketball, SCUBA diving, stand-up paddleboarding, and mountain biking. These interests reflect his dedication to a healthy and active lifestyle.
